http://developer.apple.com/java/ Apple's MRJ, a Java Runtime/SDK for the Macintosh
http://www.ibm.com/java/ IBM's Runtime and SDK for Java; this JVM is one of the fastest runtimes for Windows!
http://www.javasoft.com/jdc/ The Java Developer Connection-- this is JavaSoft's official site for anything and everything Java related. JDKs, JFC/Swing, and just about everything written for Java can be found here. This is Sun's MSDN area for Java.
http://www.javaworld.com/ JavaWorld is one of the best-known magazines dedicated to Java development. Every month, they release an incredible amount of articles detailing programming the latest and greatest Java technologies.
http://www.javasoft.com/products/jfc/tsc/ The Swing Connection. This site has articles about developing programs with JFC and Swing, JavaSoft's supplement to the AWT. Unfortunately, this site isn't updated very frequently.
http://www.historychannel.com/tdih/today.html This Day In History--the History Channel has a database of major events; this part of their web site indexes those events by date.
http://www.theonion.com/ The Onion is a parody newspaper.
